Born in Romania in 1951, Georges Mazilu is known internationally for his signature
style linking contemporary surrealism with the art of the Northern Renaissance.
Masterfully executed and bewitchingly beautiful, his paintings portray mysterious
figures seemingly caught in deep contemplation or frozen in the midst of enigmatic
rituals. A resident of France since 1982, he participates regularly in the major
Parisian art salons (Salon de Figuration Critique, Salon de Artistes Independants,
etc.) and exhibits extensively in Europe and The United States. A monograph on
the artist by the noted art critic and historian Sam Hunter is available from
Marsha Child Contemporary.
Marsha
Child Contemporary is proud to serve as Mazilu's U.S. agent.
